The Australian Government Department of Social Services helps people with a disability to participate in the workforce through employment services and assistance outlined on the Disability and carers page of their website.
Other initiatives to help people with a disability in study and employment include:

- National Disability Coordination Officer Program: aims to help people with a disability to move between school, VET, university and work
- Disability Services Australia: provides essential community support, employment, and training services for people with a disability
- JobAccess: offers practical workplace solutions for people with a disability and their employers
- Disability and Carers: provides information about programmes, services and support for people with a disability and their carers. Visitors to the site will also find information about related agencies, publications, and standards and quality assurance for disability services
- Willing and Able Mentoring Program: matches tertiary students or job seekers who have a disability with mentors in leading organisations in the student's field of interest.
